Looking for alternatives, since the developer has abandoned this app? Here's some options.

I'm not affiliated with any of these, just providing options to those of you who, like me, got burned by this app.
- BoltAI - This is the absolute best alternative if you're Mac-only. https://boltai.com/. tonsof regular updates.
- Msty - Phenomenal app, multi-plat, lots of great productivity features, update frequently, lots of activity in Discord: https://msty.app/. Free version does a ton.
- Jan.ai - Not nearly as powerful, since it's primarily intended for Local LLM usage but also happens to do some cloud LLM inference as well, but fully open source: https://jan.ai/
- MacAI - Open source, extremely new, Mac-Native, progressing very rapidly: https://github.com/Renset/macai
- SupGPT - decent, not much experience: https://supgpt.app/
Good look to anyone else looking for an alternative.

Thank you, Harsha! I wish I had seen this post before paying for a MindMac license. Anyway, I just tried Msty and MacAI and they are both great. Thanks for the recommendations!

BoltAI has a steep price. I have 4 devices, which was no problem with Mindmac license, but BoltAI wants to have 400 USD for it. That's bold.

Thanks for the link to MacAI - I had not heard of that one and will check it out now! I've been using msty quite a bit, and yeah their free tier is phenomenal.
If you use Obsidian (a free, local-first note taking app), there's a great open-source plugin called Obsidian Copilot. Nice to have it built right in to your note workflow:
For a more technical user, LibreChat is a phenomenal open-source web app that you can self-host. It requires some know-how to get it up and running & exposed to the internet safely, but once it's up you can access it from any device, anywhere, and set up logins for multiple users (friends & family) who can either use the same API keys or separate ones. It also supports agents & tools (including Anthropic's MCP).

excellent
suggestions! Another alternative to LibreChat if you're comfortable with self-hosting is https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui

Harsha K - I tried running open-webui, but got stuck during the docker build steps. Haven't had a chance to dig into why it kept failing on the pip update commands. But yeah, a lot of people seem to be using it with no trouble - I just haven't been able to :D
